First responders in Mahopac Falls and the Carmel Police Department were dispatched to a stretch of Route 6N near the Westchester County line shortly after noon, where there was a report of the crash involving injuries.
According to officials, when the first responders initially responded to the scene of the crash, it was already under the control of Sen. Terrence Murphy and his Chief of Staff Matt Slater, who happened to drive up to the crash unintentionally.
Members of the Mahopac Falls Fire Department and police officers proceeded to close off the roadway between Green Lane and Old Route 6 in Jefferson Valley to investigate the crash.
It was determined that one driver suffered a minor leg injury, while the other refused treatment from paramedics. Both vehicles have since been towed away and the roadway has been reopened.
